Puma Swede Releases English Translation of Autobiography
STOCKHOLM, Sweden – An expanded edition of adult entertainer Puma Swede’s autobiography, Puma Swede, My Life as a Porn Star, has been published in English.
Previously available only in Swedish, the 284-page book bought Swede mainstream attention when Lind & Co. released the original, Puma Swede: Mitt liv som porrstjärna, in April 2012.
“I was flattered by the huge response my book got in Sweden,” said Swede. “I was not sure how people were going to react.”
Overall, the reception was positive, she noted. Schools even invited her to address students.
“Sex education in schools is almost non-existent, something mentioned in my book,” Swede said. “It was a great opportunity to teach kids the difference between the sex they see in a porn movie and real life.”
The autobiography chronicles both good and bad things about life in porn’s fast lane, chronicling the performer’s life from her childhood in Sweden to her rise as one of the adult entertainment industry’s best known stars. Hollywood parties, sex, drugs and celebrity encounters are exposed within the pages.
“We spent a lot of time translating the book into English and adding more details and text,” Swede said. “I can’t wait for fans in the U.S. and elsewhere to check it out. It’s amazing to see something I wrote on Kindle.”
Puma Swede, My Life as a Porn Star is available from iTunes, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Copia, Baker & Taylor and eBookPie.
Swede said she plans to release the book in more languages next year.
