AMSTERDAM – Consumers who are too embarrassed to buy sex toys in real-world stores or online now have another option. The latest in 3D imaging technology enables them to create novelty items in the privacy of their own homes.

Thanks to the advent of 3D printers for the small or home office, creating dildoes, butt plugs, anal beads and other items is as easy as downloading a full-size design and sending punching “print.”

Amsterdam-based SexShop3D is among the first to offer workable designs for the consumer market.

“Download your design and print your sex toy the way you want. It’s that easy,” a spokesperson said. “What is great with this technology is that you can customize your sex toy by scaling the design up or down, and then print it in the material and color you want.

“Last but not least, the embarrassment that sex toy enthusiasts had to endure is no longer an issue when you can print your sex toys privately from home,” the spokesperson added.

All six of SexShop3D’s designs sell for $5 each.

The concept offers numerous possibilities for performers, studios, live-cam models and even online novelty stores. Stores might offer consumers the opportunity to customize their most popular products, while adult video studios, independent performers and cam models might sell replicas of their most popular “parts.”

“Just as the 3D printing technology [has grown], the 3D printed sex toy industry is bound to grow,” the SexShop3D spokesperson said. “The evolution of the technology will fill the needs of the customers.”
