Porn Billing is Lucrative for Irish Firm

MindGeek trafficDUBLIN – Ever wondered how much money churns through the adult internet annually? Here’s an indicator: During its first two years in business (2012-2014), Dublin-based MG Billing Ireland Ltd. generated nearly $400 million in revenue as a third-party biller for a single company’s adult websites.

That company is MindGeek, a global giant with subsidiaries including the studios Digital Playground, Reality Kings, Brazzers and Twistys; tube sites RedTube, Xtube, PornHub and YouPorn; and broadcast operations Playboy TV, Playboy Plus and Spice. Together, MindGeek’s online properties garner an estimated 1.7 billion page views per month; four of the company’s tube sites consistently rank among the top 20 online properties in traffic-generation, according to SimilarWeb.

MindGeek also has operating agreements with companies including Playboy and Really Useful Ltd., and operates a games division in the non-adult space.

MG Billing is a MindGeek subsidiary. The company processes hundreds of thousands of website subscriptions monthly — with a staff of 15.

Headquartered in Luxembourg, MindGeek maintains offices in Bucharest, Romania; Nicosia, Cyprus; Hamburg, Germany; and London, but the Irish office was the company’s first move into a technology center. Since then, it has opened an office in California’s Silicon Valley, right down the street from Facebook.
