New Fundraising Program Aims to Benefit Healthcare Initiatives
CURACAO – A live-cam website kicked off a continuing charitable project with an impressive donation to a respected international research foundation.
Cam4 donated $5,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation to mark the launch of Cam4 Cares, a fundraising program that will benefit various healthcare charities.
CAM4 Cares is the company’s first foray into fundraising. A spokesperson indicated the program will donate a percentage of proceeds from the sale of special merchandise during designated healthcare-awareness months to a charity associated with that month’s theme. October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month; hence the donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. November’s percentage will benefit Movember, a global organization dedicated to combating prostate and testicular cancer and men’s mental health challenges.
“Not only does CAM4 Cares visually raise awareness about important health issues to our millions of visitors, but it’s also a fundraising platform that allows us to involve our models in giving back,” said Director of Sales and Marketing Jas Kase.
In 2012, the website introduced Cam4 Gifts as a more personal way for viewers to tip models. Members may choose from more than 100 gifts at a variety of price points. An undisclosed percentage of the sale of Breast Cancer Awareness gifts composed the $5,000 donation.
“The choice to focus on healthcare charities was easy,” Kase said. “Without the health of our models and viewers, we wouldn’t have a site. This wouldn’t have been possible without our incredible community, so I want to thank each and every user who shared a Cam4 Cares gift.”
