YNOT EUROPE – Tanya Tate won’t be speaking at an upcoming Literary and Historical Society debate at University College Dublin. The group’s invitation was rescinded after school authorities got wind of the adult performer’s appearance.

Officials gave no reason for shutting Tate out of the event.

Even for an adult performer, Tate is controversial in Ireland. Conservative elements in the country are still fuming over the busty blonde MILF’s on-camera romp with professional hurler Greg Jacob in 2010. Oddly, UCD had invited Tate to speak and let the invitation stand even after the scandal broke. Tate was unable to attend the event because of a prior commitment.

Tate said she was “blown away” by the recent hullabaloo. Stuffy academic types in Ireland apparently are unwilling to discuss adult entertainment, despite the fact many Irish citizens enjoy porn in private, she mused.

“While mainstream communities are becoming more open to exploring the notion of adult entertainment, some parts of our modern society are too afraid to approach the subject,” she said. “I am saddened that it appears the UCD authorities have decided not to allow their students to explore an open debate on this very issue.”

Not one to be stymied by a handful of academicians, Tate said she will answer questions from the UCD community in a video she plans to post to her YouTube channel on Sept. 19, the night on which the debate was to have taken place. Questions may be emailed to her.

“Though I am disheartened by the actions of the college authorities, I do believe there are discussions on the topic of adult entertainment to be had,” she said. “Should the students of the UCD have any questions for me, I encourage them to contact me directly. The college authorities may have prevented me from openly debating at the school, but I’ll be damned if I let them stop me from voicing my opinions and experiences to those who wish to hear them.”
