Something Wicked This Way Comes
YNOT EUROPE – American mega-studio Wicked Pictures has sealed a deal giving Paris-based Marc Dorcel exclusive rights to distribute Wicked’s catalog via TV and satellite on-demand systems in most of Europe. Dorcel also secured the rights to broadcast Wicked’s titles on Dorcel TV.
The agreement, culminating a more than 10-year collaboration between the two companies, will see Wicked’s productions distributed in more than 18 European countries via 50 networks and TV and satellite on-demand platforms. Wicked has distributed Marc Dorcel’s products in the U.S. since 1995.
“We are really proud of our productions, and being aligned with such a well-respected entity like Marc Dorcel is a win-win for both of our companies,” said Steven Vlottes, Wicked’s vice president for international sales and licensing. “We are very excited to further expand the reach of our high-quality adult entertainment to the European audience.”
Marc Dorcel’s multi-platform approach makes the company one of the largest adult content distributors in the European Union. The company launched its first VOD offering in 2002 on DorcelVision.com and since then has grown to encompass more than 50 outlets online, via cable networks and on IPTV systems. Last year, Marc Dorcel expanded its reach by signing a partnership to deliver the first 3D adult VOD on systems operated by French network Free in countries including Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal and Korea.
“Since their creation, Marc Dorcel’s VOD services have been in search of high-quality content,” said Chief Executive Officer Gregory Dorcel. “We are glad to join forces with one of the most successful American brands and partner with Wicked Pictures, with whom we share the same taste of excellence.”
Wicked Pictures‘ products and services will be available in all markets where Marc Dorcel is present as well as on 14 TVOD, SVOD, IPTV, cable and Smart TV systems owned by the French company.
