YNOT EUROPE – Bremen, Germany-based SGM Media GmbH, parent company of SexGoesMobile.com, has sealed a six-figure deal to acquire Mobile.xxx and 350 other .xxx domains for the company’s adult portfolio.

Mobile.xxx, the prize in the package, sold for $160,000, according to .xxx overseer ICM Registry. Neither ICM nor SGM Media revealed the total price of the deal.

The site to be erected at the new domain “will be dedicated to providing the first all-encompassing .xxx destination for mobile devices,” offering live cams, video and dating in 10 languages, in addition to “other adult-oriented content,” a joint statement noted.

According to ICM, 18 percent of the most recent five million visits to its Search.xxx search engine arrived from mobile devices, and the popularity of the search term “mobile” is on the rise.

“The growth in consuming online adult entertainment from mobile devices has been extraordinary, and this project to develop an exceptional domain will allow us to create a site that will capture the ever-increasing opportunities in the .xxx world,” said SGM Media Chief Executive Officer Andy Wullmer. “Search engines such as Google are de-ranking adult-related results to filter out content. Aligning with ICM’s search engine is helping us meet the consumer’s demand for simple, efficient ways to find and enjoy online adult content on mobile devices.”

Steve Winyard, vice president of ICM Registry, said the deal with SGM is a significant indicator of the rapid and continual growth of mobile devices as a means of accessing adult content.

“SGM Media is one of the leading mobile companies in the world,” Winyard said. “We will work closely with them on this project to help build a groundswell of attention among appropriate audiences.”
