SegPay Adds France, Italy Non-Card Payment Options

YNOT EUROPE – Internet payment service provider SegPay has fully integrated a direct-debit payment solution for France and Italy. The integration provides online merchants a secure, convenient option for consumers in the two markets who do not have or do not wish to use credit cards.

SegPay is the first major IPSP to market the direct-debit payment option to the French and Italian consumer markets, building on the company’s successful initial launch of similar programs for The Netherlands, the UK, Spain, Austria and Germany. More countries are being added, a representative said.

Company statistics indicate direct-debit payment solutions have increased German internet consumer transactions by up to 60 percent.

“This is just one more element in our continuing pursuit of additional incremental revenue for our clients,” said SegPay President and Chief Executive Officer Cathy Beardsley. “Direct debit payments are extremely popular in the European Union, and integrating this service into our system helps deliver a hassle-free way to increase the customer base for our merchants.”

Integrating the direct-debit solution is a simple, one-time process for SegPay merchants, Beardsley said. All revenues earned on direct-debit sales will display in the merchant’s regular SegPay admin and be reflected in weekly payouts.
