Saboom to Halt Production, Test All Performers
YNOT EUROPE – Adult content producer Saboom, owned and operated by PartnerCash, has halted production due to concerns about performer health recently raised by U.S.-based trade association Free Speech Coalition.
The FSC called for an indefinite, U.S.-wide production moratorium Saturday after a male performer based in Los Angeles was found to have altered health-test results that indicated he was infected with syphilis. The performer shot at least three sexually explicit scenes before the deception was discovered, his former talent agent said.
All adult performers in the U.S. currently are undergoing voluntary syphilis testing and have been offered prophylactic antibiotic inoculations. Performers who participate in the testing and inoculations could be cleared to return to work in as few as 10 days.
To be on the safe side, Saboom will follow a similar protocol, a spokesperson said.
“All porn stars will be tested several times to make sure a risk-free environment is provided,” the spokesperson noted. “We hope the situation won’t spread around and all stars involved will get the appropriate treatment.”
“It will be imperative in the near future to pay attention to tests and repeatedly test all performers,” the spokesperson added. “Saboom will make sure to continue producing excellent content and create a risk-free environment for its performers.”
Luxembourg-based adult producer Manwin, which shoots extensively in the U.S., also has suspended production until further notice.
