New e-Commerce Outlet for Models
YNOT EUROPE – Babe directory FreeOnes is beta-testing a new feature that allows models to generate revenue from their listings on the site.
Called the Model Personals Store, the feature launched in early January. To use it, models need only to log into their account and upload photos and videos, then promote the products’ availability to their fans. Fans may purchase the products through FreeOnes’ interface, and models receive a percentage of each sale.
“The idea for the model content program came up few years ago when we noticed a downfall in the solo-site business,” said Roald Riepen, managing director for FreeOnes. “Because of the tube sites, rampant piracy and the overall economy being bad, this resulted in less work for the models and a need to look at new revenue streams.
“We decided now is the best time to take the step and open up our platform to the models,” he continued. “So, with this new feature, they can benefit directly from our traffic by simply uploading their own content to their personal store, [and] then let us do the work of selling it.”
Riepen also said the company is working on new features for the Model Personals Store, and he expects to begin launching some of them within the next few months.
“In the near future, we’ll roll out various extra features such as a complete portal to improve the project and generate extra traffic and revenue,” he revealed. “We want to keep it interesting enough for the models so they continue to work with us.”
