Mobile Carrier Filter Targets 3G Networks

YNOT EUROPE – Barcelona-based ExoClick Mobile, the mobile division of adult advertising network ExoClick, has launched a traffic filter the company believes is the first of its kind in the market. According to a spokesperson, the new filter will help clients increase the effectiveness of their ads by targeting their messages to customers of specific service providers.

“In countries where billing methods by mobile operators are available, it is important to know your users,” said ExoClick Chief Executive Officer Benjamin Fonzé. “Our ad server helps you by detecting mobile carriers.”

Currently, the platform can pinpoint carriers located in France, Spain, Austria and the Netherlands. Fonzé said new countries will be added “in the coming weeks.”

“We have been looking at mobile carrier targeting for a long time now and have been disappointed by all the solutions we tested,” Fonzé said. “Usually, there is a high percentage of false positives, and [so the system] quickly becomes unreliable.”

That’s why “we have decided to build our own detection algorithm, with a proprietary database that we are updating constantly,” Fonzé continued. “Thanks to this unique system, we have a detection success rate … close to 100 percent. We are convinced this data is a great asset for the company.”

Launched at the beginning of 2012, ExoClick Mobile claims nine billion mobile impressions monthly through banner ads, pop-unders and redirects. The company offers a range of tools — including carrier detection, device detection and special ad formats — to help clients monetize their mobile assets.
