‘From Still Life to Food Porn’
YNOT EUROPE – “From Still Life to Food Porn” is a beautiful photographic exhibition featuring works produced by a group of Spanish photographers. Coordinated by photographer Yanet Acosta, the exhibition incorporates works that were part of the Festival CineEsCena, which took place earlier this month in La Laguna, Tenerife.
Acosta told YNOT Europe the inspiration for the show came from “looking at the evolution of photography for cookbooks. [Food] still lifes and drawings are approached with little grace, instead of allowing the lens to capture the emotion and sensuality of the ingredients.”
The artist said she was surprised by the impact a new perspective can have on an audience.
“In just one week, the [online] catalog [of images] has been visited by nearly 30,000 people,” she told YNOT Europe. “I am very grateful to all those who have supported this initiative and the artists who have been ‘led astray’ by this idea.”
The exhibition demonstrates porn can be tasty. And regardless the subject matter, it’s still selling.
