DIMOCO Bills the Balkans
YNOT EUROPE – Mobile payment and messaging company DIMOCO now allows billing of consumers in four Balkan states — Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kosovo — directly via their mobile phone plans.
The additions bring the number of mobile subscribers within DIMOCO’s reach to 594 million. The Brunn am Gebirge, Austria-based company’s infrastructure allows direct billing in 23 countries and mobile messaging in more than 600 countries worldwide.
“We are successively expanding our backend infrastructure to become a global payment service provider,” said Chief Executive Officer Gerald Tauchner, affirming his company’s step-by-step expansion. “Especially in Southeast Europe, we are seeing above-average acceptance by the population for the new business models on the internet, with payment by mobile phone increasingly becoming the billing method of preference. For this reason we have decided to round off our existing country portfolio in the Balkans with these four countries.”
Tauchner said the addition of new countries brings business customers new sources of revenue.
“With our market and product portfolio, we are exploring new sources of revenue for our customers,” he said. “You can concentrate on your mobile apps, dating platforms, social networks, etc., while we provide the perfect mobile payment solution in the countries we offer.
“Think global, act local — that’s been our motto for more than 12 years since we entered the market.”
