Beate Uhse, Private Sign Digital Distro Deal

Beate Uhse and Private Media
YNOT EUROPE – Private Media Group Inc., based in Barcelona, and Flensburg, Germany-based Beate Uhse Licensing BV have signed what the companies characterize as a broad-ranging, long-term distribution agreement. Under the terms of the five-year deal, Private becomes the exclusive worldwide distributor for Beate Uhse’s digital media.

“Private is by far the best positioned company to distribute our library and new productions to digital platform operators across Europe and the Americas,” said Martijn van der Hoven, managing director of Beate Uhse Licensing.

Added Serge van der Hooft, chief executive officer of parent company Beate Uhse AG, “Private’s sales force is dynamic and has a proven track record of serving the evolving needs of media platform operators. By adding Beate Uhse Licensing’s digital rights to Private’s portfolio, we will substantially increase our market reach.”

Beate Uhse Licensing’s brands include Daring!, Pleasure, Diablo, Legal Pink and Collateral Damage. The company’s catalog contains more than 1,000 titles.

According to Private President and CEO Charles Prast, the agreement will permit Private to offer a broader spectrum of content to digital platform operators while enhancing revenue and market awareness of Beate Uhse Licensing’s core brands.”

“By offering Beate Uhse Licensing’s diverse library and new branded content to both new and existing digital distributors, we will enhance our position in the market,” Prast said. “It is no secret that operators are looking to reduce the number of intermediaries with which they do business. By Private offering a more comprehensive content portfolio, both Beate Uhse and Private benefit.”

In June, Private granted extensive exclusive physical media distribution rights to Beate Uhse’s wholesale group, SCALA Playhouse.
