YNOT EUROPE – French television show Le Sexe Autour du Monde recently aired a segment in which Montreal-based adult performer Ariel Rebel extolled the virtues of softcore porn. The popular TV5 series travels the globe to demystify sexual attitudes and practices worldwide.

The segment featuring Rebel, filmed on location in Quebec, explored the differences between hardcore and softcore pornography, both of which are produced in the Canadian province. Rebel is an advocate of the latter, but only if the material is high-quality. Her position was backed up by on-the-street interviews with average Canadians who said they prefer high-end softcore productions.

“It’s always fun for me to be able to express my opinions and showcase my work,” said Rebel, winner of the 2012 AVN Award for Best Solo Site. “When I first learned that I was going to be interviewed for the show, I jumped from my chair. It’s a highly credited, award-winning TV show that even my mom watches.

“The crew of EurekaTV [the production company] was extremely fun to work with and properly gathered all my thoughts,” she continued. “It’s very rare I get to express myself in French, and it’s heartening to have the opportunity to spread my message to the French- and English-speaking world.”

Rebel’s segment will be online until June 30.
