LONDON – UK university students are a sexually adventurous group, with a recent survey revealing 51 percent admitted to having one-night stands and 29 percent admitted to having sex in a public place.

Those who attend the University of Brighton claimed to have had an average of 10.59 sex partners apiece — the highest number among university students across the British Isles. Students at Bath Spa University claimed the lowest average: only 2.57 sexual partners per survey participant.

The survey also revealed UK students majoring in hospitality or philosophy report having the most sex, while those majoring in chemical engineering, human resources or environmental science report having the least.

Other statistics of note:

• 42 percent of students surveyed lost their virginity at age 16 or younger.
• 28 percent prefer the woman on top during sex.
• 27 percent prefer “doggy style.”

According to the survey, 51 percent of female students and 61 percent of males reported having unprotected sex. The majority of both sexes reported believing it is the male’s job to provide protection — which may explain why 30 percent of female respondents have taken the “morning after” pill.

Although 51 percent of the students surveyed reported being in a relationship, cheating is always an option: 28 percent of females and 27 percent of males who responded said they’d be willing to cheat on their partners.
