YNOT EUROPE – The French company Colmax now offers porn scenes in 3D, available via digital video on demand through Colmax Distribution. Colmax collaborated with another French company, 3D specialist 3D Mansion, to produce the content.

In 2010, the adult industry as a whole displayed little interest in the new technology that is 3D. More complicated than traditional filmmaking, shooting in 3D requires a rethinking of almost every aspect of the craft in order to provide viewers with the best experience.

2011 marked a turning point in the industry’s attitude as the technology became more affordable for both producers and consumers. Now, quite a few adult studios devote at least a portion of their resources to 3D.

Colmax has produced 23 3D scenes. Each was shot with three cameras, providing total viewer immersion. The cameras are equipped with ultra-compact mirror rigs, a sophisticated optical system that automatically controls the convergence. The result: high picture quality with a very realistic appearance.

Combining know-how and new technologies, Colmax now is focused on producing a feature film that will offer extreme close-ups and a large number of players.

The scenes produced by Colmax and 3D Mansion are available not only on Colmax.com, but also to customers of SFR, Orange and Numéricable.
