LONDON – Here’s a novel idea: Before attempting to answer the public’s most pressing questions, first ask the public what they really want to know.

That’s the approach adult dating site CougarDatingFun.co.uk is taking with its Cougar 2013 survey.

“We thought the best way to conduct the survey is to first ask [for] the questions people want to have answered now, in 2013,” spokesperson Tracey Andrew said. “We figured we are going to expend the time and energy to gather data anyway, so we might as well spend it collating answers to questions that people are actually interested in.”

To that end, the website has extended an invitation for anyone and everyone who is interested in or curious about cougars and the cubs who love them to contribute creative, provocative and/or imaginative questions. In return, the website has promised to provide data based on responses from its members in Europe and the U.S.

“We did not want to give sample questions, as we did not want to lead people to think in any particular direction,” Andrew said. Instead, “[we] wanted this to be totally open-ended to see what the community comes back with.”

For the uninitiated, cougars are mature women who seek relationships with younger men. Cub is the corresponding euphemism for the younger men.

The deadline to contribute questions is 31 May. Each participant may ask up to three questions.
