ASACP Reaches Out to Europe

YNOT EUROPE – The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection has appointed Vince Charlton as its new director of European outreach.

With experience in the fields of accountancy and offshore trusts, Charlton is best known in the adult industry for his previous work with European merchant account provider eMerchantPay. Based in Jersey, Channel Islands, U.K., the married father of two sons now operates his own corporate consultancy for adult merchants, specializing in restructuring international adult companies.

As a liaison for ASACP, his goal is to increase awareness of child protection issues within the European market.

Charlton said fatherhood convinced him to volunteer with ASACP: He firmly believes in the protection of children and the restriction of minors’ access to adult content.

“Having two young sons of my own, the problem of minors accessing online adult content has always been on my mind,” he said. “When [Executive Director] Tim [Henning] offered me the opportunity to work more closely with ASACP in Europe, I saw it as the ideal opportunity to put my money where my mouth is and actually do something positive to help promote such a worthwhile cause.

“I am delighted to have the chance to work with Tim and the rest of the ASACP team to further develop a concept I feel very strongly about as both a parent and an industry professional,” he added.

Among Charlton’s first duties for the association will be attending the European Summit in Barcelona, where he will join Henning to conduct an information session about ASACP and the Restricted to Adults website label at 2 p.m. March 2.

“[Charlton] is a standup guy who has supported ASACP behind the scenes for a number of years, and we’re delighted to add him to our valued team,” Henning said. “His appointment as director of European outreach underscores ASACP’s ongoing commitment to this significant market segment, where an increasing volume of adult content is being produced.

“[Charlton’s] European expertise will help us to reach this vital audience, where ASACP’s message of keeping children out of and away from adult entertainment must be heard,” Henning added.
