AEBN Flirts with France
YNOT EUROPE – Adult Entertainment Broadcast Network, a pioneer in online video-on-demand distribution, has become a giant in the industry. Today it opened its doors to more viewers and affiliates in Europe.
Founded in 1999, the site harbors more than 100,000 adult streaming videos in both gay and straight categories. More than 1,500 studios offer content through AEBN, including French companies Marc Dorcel, Colmax, JTC and Blue One. Worldwide, AEBN claims to serve more than 10 million subscribers, and more than 150 million unique visitors each month.
Recognizing the one of the essential differences between consumers in the U.S. and Europe lies in the manner of payment, AEBN formed a partnership with Webbilling BV to offer direct payment options to European customers. The vast majority of Europeans do not use credit cards for online purchases of adult entertainment. The market share of credit cards is less than 23% in Europe. It was therefore necessary to establish a payment system ensuring complete anonymity in order to optimize European traffic.
“With the help of Webbilling, we were able to add a direct-debit option,” an AEBN spokesperson said.
Webbilling has served the needs of adult websites for more than 11 years. The company maintains strong business relationships with banks in Europe, allowing it to consolidate many different payment methods specific to each country into one direct-debit solution.
“We are delighted to start adding more countries to our capacity through direct-debit payment, beginning with the French market,” Webbilling Global Director of Operations Ines Petersen said. “Our expansion will allow AEBN affiliates to convert all their traffic from the EU to improve results for the good of all.”
According to AEBN, affiliates now can convert traffic sent from Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, the U.K., Spain, Italy and France.
