YNOT EUROPE – With seven nominations for Marc Dorcel and four nominations in the categories “Best Female Performer” and “Best Foreign Performer,” France is rather well represented among the nominees for the 2011 AVN Awards, called in the U.S. “the Oscars of adult.”

Like every year, the month of January is marked by a major adult industry gathering, the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo. The event will take place Jan. 7-9 in Las Vegas, America’s “sin city.” The AVN Awards is part of the celebration, set to occur Jan. 8 at The Palms Casino Resort.

A complete list of the nominees is posted at AVN’s website. The 2011 list includes no fewer than 155 categories. The task of determining the best is somewhat difficult, but exciting!

Of course, we find France in the “foreign” categories, with Marc Dorcel taking the lion’s share with seven nominations:

Best Foreign All Sex Series: Russian Institute
Best Foreign Film: Madame de Bonplaisir, Journal d’une fille au pair (Diary of an au pair)
Best Director, Foreign Film: Hervé Bodilis for Madame de Bonplaisir, Philippe Soine for Journal d’une fille au pair
Best Director, Foreign All Sex Film: Hervé Bodilis for L’été de mes 19 ans.

French actor Lou Charmelle was nominated in the category Best Foreign Performer, in the midst of actresses mainly from the east. His stay in the U.S. this summer has left traces!

On the male side, we find Mike Angelo, Olivier Sanchez and Ian Scott in the category Best Foreign Performer. French performer Manuel Ferrara sees his name in the list about 30 times in several “foreign” categories. This is a nice collection of hardcore performances and titles, anyway!
