YNOT EUROPE – One of Norway’s biggest mainstream online newspapers has named Vicky Vette the “Number 1 Followed Norwegian in the World.” The title refers to the Norway-born adult performer’s Twitter following, which on Tuesday morning numbered more than 376,000 people.

In a five-page story titled “Vicky is Norway’s Twitter Queen” (subscription required), Oslo-based VG reveals that Vette — who was born in Stavanger, Norway, and moved to Canada as a child — claims more than twice as many Twitter followers as Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg.

She may look better on film, too, judging by the pictorial and video that accompany the story.

Landing on the front page of VG adds another honor to a string of successes and accolades Vette has enjoyed in 2012. Early this year, she was featured in a four-page spread in Maxim Argentina. In April, she was crowned Miss FreeOnes 2012. In October, she was inducted into the NightMoves Hall of Fame and signed a deal to represent the virtual adult playground Red Light Center. She also signed a number of new adult performers to her online network of busty MILFs, the Vette Nation Army and launched a live-cam network.

“I’d be lying if I said getting a front-page spread in Norway’s biggest mainstream paper isn’t a thrill — especially clothed and not in the crime section,” Vette joked. “Twitter and social networking are revolutionizing how we communicate, and it’s opening doors for adult stars like me that previously have been closed. I am surprised no one from adult has yet to hit a million followers. Hopefully, I can reach that number before I become a GILF.”
