Public Voting Begins for 11th Annual Cybersocket Web Awards
YNOT EUROPE – Cybersocket has opened fan and industry voting for its 11th annual Web Awards. Each year, with help from the public, the online resource recognizes outstanding websites, personalities and companies for their contributions to the LGBT community. Awards are given in “Surfers Choice” and “Industry Choice” categories.
A number of European companies are nominated in both divisions.
“We feel it is essential to honor these individuals and companies as being technological entrepreneurs, important agents of free expression and cultural change, and innovators in queer online media and entertainment,” an official statement notes.
Online voting for nominees in both surfer and webmaster categories opened Nov. 3 and will close on Dec. 31.
Industry insiders may vote here. More than 180 companies are nominated in 12 categories: Best Webmaster Community, Best Industry Magazine, Best Live Cam, Best Video Company, Best Content Provider, Company of the Year, Best Affiliate Program, Best Billing Company, Best Alternative Billing Company, Best White Label, Business Person of the Year and Best Hosting Company.
Fans may vote here. More than 400 nominees occupy 26 categories spanning personalities, movies, interactive sites, content sites, escort sites, shopping destinations and blogs.
Promotional banners touting nominee status are available for both Industry Choice and Surfers Choice categories.
Date and location of the awards ceremony has not been announced, but the gala event is expected to take place in the Los Angeles area in the spring.
