YNOT EUROPE – The Galaxy Awards committee has released the list of nominees for 2012 honors. The awards, which debuted in 2011, recognize the best in adult entertainment on the internet.

“The idiosyncrasies of this medium are not recognized in any other award,” a spokesperson for the committee said. “In addition to categories that emphasize individual work, such as the Best Male Performer and Best Female Performer categories, others include Best Website and Best Network, to name a few.”

The decision process is divided into three rounds. The first, which determines the nominees, is run by a group of experts; the second, from which the finalists come, is determined by fans through their votes on the official website. The winners, determined in the third round, are selected by professionals based on a list of specific criteria.

Finalists consist of the three nominees who received the most fan support in their category during Round Two, which has commenced. According to Galaxy Awards organizers, social networking is essential during this round, and most nominees promote themselves on their websites, as well, in order to increase their visibility.

The second annual Galaxy Awards ceremony will take place April 20 at the Hotel Eurostars Grand Marina in Barcelona. Last year’s gala was virtual.
